Mercy serves as a Board Member of the Ghana Insurers Association. She commenced her tenure with Serene Insurance Limited on September 1, 2022, bringing with her an extensive industry background and a wealth of knowledge acquired over 22 years. Throughout her professional journey, Mercy has held various senior-level positions, showcasing remarkable technical and leadership skills.

Her expertise extends to chairing and actively participating in numerous industry technical committees. These committees are instrumental in shaping and implementing policies aimed at fostering accelerated economic development and the expansion of the insurance sector. Notable contributions include her role in the Marine Cargo Insurance Committee established by the National Insurance Commission (NIC) to establish minimum standards and requirements for Marine Cargo Insurance. Additionally, she played a pivotal role in the Resolution Committee during the 2016 WAICA Educational Conference in Sierra Leone.

Mercy’s involvement spans several committees, such as the Motor Technical Committee of the Ghana Insurers Association (GIA), the ECOWAS Brown Card (Ghana National Bureau) Technical Committee, and the Planning Committee of the 33rd Annual General Meeting of the Council of Bureau, ECOWAS Brown Card Insurance Scheme, among others. She has also actively contributed to initiatives like the Motor Insurance Database (MID), the Marine Cargo Insurance Database, and the Insurance Awareness Campaign Team.

Mercy facilitated a workshop on Customs Bonds for the staff of the Ghana Revenue Authority, Customs Division. She is credited with suggesting the idea of the NIC enforcing insurers’ purchase of Brown Card Insurance Certificates at the time of acquiring Motor Insurance Stickers from the Commission. Additionally, she played a crucial role in organizing sensitization programs on the importance and benefits of obtaining local Marine Cargo Insurance in various locations, including Cape Coast, Takoradi, Koforidua, and Aflao.

Mercy has pursued continuous professional development through various technical and leadership courses both locally and internationally. These include underwriting, claims, and reinsurance courses, participation in a C-Suite Leadership Programme under the LeapFrog Talent Accelerator, managerial and leadership training at the Swiss Insurance Training Centre (SITC) in Switzerland, RSA Global Network Training in Belgium, and PRINCE2 Agile Project Management. She actively participates in industry workshops, such as Annual Zonal Meetings, AGMs, and Council of Bureau Meetings of the ECOWAS Brown Card Insurance Scheme.

She holds esteemed professional designations, including being a Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute of Ghana (FCIIG) and an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute, UK (ACII). Additionally, Mercy has earned an Executive Master of Business Administration (Marketing Option) and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Secretaryship. Notably, she was recently elected and recognized as one of the Top 50 Women in Insurance in Africa at the 48th Annual General Meeting of the African Insurance Organization (AIO) and the 50th Anniversary Celebration of the Organization for her invaluable contributions to the growth of the insurance industry.
