Mr. Seth Aklasi is an accomplished strategic business leader with an impressive track record in the finance and insurance industry, spanning over 20 years.

His journey at International Energy Insurance (IEI) Ghana Limited began in 2008, where he started as a Deputy Manager and steadily climbed the ranks to become the Chief Operations Officer. During his tenure, Mr. Aklasi spearheaded corporate initiatives focusing on crucial areas such as pricing, product development, reinsurance, and claims administration. He also played a pivotal role in forging strategic alliances and identifying growth opportunities that significantly expanded the company’s client base. Notably, his leadership as Head of the Energy Group propelled it to become the highest business-producing unit within IEI. Prior to his time at IEI, he gained valuable experience at Enterprise Insurance Company Ghana Limited, working as a Motor Underwriter and later as a Client Relations Officer in the Broker Unit.

Before joining Donewell Insurance, Mr. Aklasi briefly held the position of Managing Director at Priority Insurance. Since joining Donewell Insurance in 2015 as Chief Executive Officer, he has demonstrated transformative leadership and proven his ability to drive growth in the Ghanaian insurance industry. Mr. Aklasi’s expertise extends to various facets of insurance, encompassing growth strategies, sustainability, leadership, and human capital development. Under his guidance, Donewell Insurance has experienced ascending growth, firmly establishing itself as a prominent player in the market.

In addition to his professional achievements, Mr. Aklasi has actively contributed to the insurance industry in Ghana. From 2016 to 2019, he served as the Chairman of the Accident Committee of the Ghana Insurance Association (GIA). He currently holds the position of Board Chair at Hag Hospital and Fertility Centre and has fulfilled two terms as an Executive Committee Member of the Ghana National Bureau of the ECOWAS Brown Card Scheme, serving as Vice Chairman during the second term. Furthermore, he is a member of the Client Rescue Fund Committee of the National Insurance Commission (NIC).

Mr. Aklasi’s dedication to continuous professional development is evident through his affiliations and educational background. He is an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute (ACII) in London and a Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute of Ghana (FCIIG). Moreover, he holds an MSc in Insurance and Risk Management from Bayes Business School (formerly Cass Business School) at City, University of London, and a BA in Social Science (Geography) from the University of Cape Coast. His commitment to staying abreast of industry trends is demonstrated by his active participation in numerous insurance and risk management seminars, both locally and internationally.
