On behalf of the Board and Management of the Ghana Insurers Association (GIA), I welcome all visitors to the official website of the Ghana Insurers Association (GIA). We are delighted that you are visiting our website to learn more about the Association, our member companies, the insurance industry in Ghana and the business of insurance in general.

It has taken us so long to announce our presence on the virtual web platform but as the saying goes, Better late than never. We believe that we would make the new website a useful tool for reference and general education on insurance

GIA was registered under the Companies’ Code, 1963 (Act 179) on May 27^th 1988 with the overriding objective of Protecting, Promoting and Advancing the common interests of Insurers and Reinsurers in Ghana.

GIA has an obligation to educate and create insurance awareness and is keen on enhancing insurance penetration and density in Ghana. The Association is equally determined to improve on service quality as well as promote the well being of the insuring public for socio-economic development.

We have over the years partnered with local and international stakeholders to develop innovative programmes such Insurance Education and Capacity Building Programme in Ghana. We were instrumental in the introduction of the B.sc Administration (Insurance Option) programme at the School of Administration, the University of Ghana in 1989 and in the establishment of the Ghana Insurance College in 2007.

To complement the above efforts, this website has been developed to provide up-to-date information about the Ghana Insurance Industry and operations of GIA. Hopefully, it will provide insights and answers to questions on insurance.
