Save the dates for the highly anticipated Insurance Awareness Month Celebration hosted by the Ghana Insurers Association (GIA). This exciting event will take place from Wednesday, June 28, 2023, to Friday, July 28, 2023.
The Insurance Awareness Month celebration is a month-long initiative designed to raise awareness about insurance and showcase its numerous benefits to stakeholders, the general public, and anyone interested in insurance matters. All the planned activities and programs for the month align with the Association’s core objectives.
Let’s take a closer look at the lineup of events for this year’s Awareness Month celebration:
Official Launch
The festivities will commence on Wednesday, June 28, 2023, from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm at the prestigious Alisa Hotel Ridge Arena. The official launch ceremony will bring together esteemed members of the Association, media representatives, and relevant stakeholders. During the event, attendees will receive a comprehensive briefing on the objectives of the month and gain insights into the schedule of various programs and activities.
Fun Games and Musical Concert
Join us on Saturday, July 1, 2023, from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm, at the University of Ghana Athletics Oval for a day filled with exhilarating fun games and a live musical concert. Participating companies are encouraged to prepare for the various disciplines and provide their own refreshments.
In addition, member companies are invited to share short videos highlighting their achievements and bragging rights in sports. These videos will be collected by the GIA secretariat and used to promote the event, showcasing the impressive talents within the insurance industry.
Consumer Outreach Program on Selected Insurance Topics and CMAB
Tune in to television, radio, and social media platforms from Monday, July 3, to Friday, July 14, 2023, between 8:00 am and 9:00 am daily, for an insightful consumer outreach program. Companies are invited to submit topics of interest they wish to educate the public on, along with the names of their resource persons.
GIA-Graphic Insurance Fair / CMAB Clinic
Don’t miss GIA-Graphic Insurance Fair and the Complaint Management and Advice Bureau (CMAB) Clinic, happening from Thursday, July 20, to Saturday, July 22, 2023, between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm daily. This collaborative event aims to promote the insurance business and enhance insurance claims. Join us at either the Accra Mall or Achimota Mall for informative sessions. Graphic Communications will provide supplementary copies for various companies and arrange social media coverage. Stay tuned for more details.
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Visit to Winneba Specialist Trauma Hospital
On Wednesday, July 26, 2023, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, participate in a CSR initiative by accompanying three representatives from your company on a visit to the Winneba Specialist Trauma Hospital. During the visit, consider bringing souvenirs to be donated to the victims and optionally contributing cash to the hospital.
Thanksgiving Service
Conclude the month-long celebration with a Thanksgiving Service on Friday, July 28, 2023, from 4:00 pm to 6:30 pm. The service will be held at the Assemblies of God Auditorium, Head Office, Osu. Each company is requested to send five staff members to represent them during this special occasion.

A strategic offsite meeting exclusively for CEOs or their representatives is scheduled for August 17th to 19th, 2023. The venue for this important gathering will be announced in the near future.
