Dr. Kingsley Kwesi Kwabahson is a distinguished professional holding key positions in the insurance industry and academic institutions. He currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Insurers Association (GIA) and holds the position of Lecturer at the Ghana Insurance College (GIC). Additionally, he is the President and founder of the Global Financial Inclusion Institute (GFII), established in November 2019.

Before assuming the role of CEO at GIA, Dr. Kwabahson held the position of Head of Technical, overseeing Life operations within the organization. This experience provided him with valuable insights into the intricacies of the insurance sector.

Dr. Kwabahson boasts an impressive academic background. He holds a Doctorate in Finance, an Executive Master’s in Business Administration, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing of Service. Additionally, he is a Chartered Insurance Practitioner and a Chartered Marketer, having received education and certifications from esteemed institutions such as SMC University, GIMPA, and the Maastricht School of Management, among others.

His expertise and contributions extend beyond his executive roles. Dr. Kwabahson is an active member of several notable groups and committees, including the Capital Market Master Plan and the Product Development Group. He is also a valued member of the Ministerial Committee on the Insurance Act and Regulation, where his insights and expertise contribute to shaping industry policies and regulations.

With over 22 years of professional experience, Dr. Kingsley Kwesi Kwabahson is a firm believer in the concept of “wealth at the bottom of the pyramid.” This perspective fuels his keen interest in the informal sector, reflecting his commitment to promoting financial inclusion and extending insurance coverage to all segments of society.
